ALERT

Due to the overwhelming surge in COVID-19 cases and the strain it has placed on health care capacity in the communities we serve, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has activated crisis standards of care statewide. We are open and available to see patients, but you may experience delays at our ERs, hospitals, and clinics. We appreciate your patience. Access more info on COVID testing, vaccination, visitor policy, hospitalization data, and FAQs.

Description

Our standard 4-week childbirth preparation course will help you and your support companion prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally for your labor, birth, and postpartum experience.

We’ll demonstrate and practice a variety of coaching, breathing, and relaxation techniques.

We’ll also cover the birth process, pain management during labor, decision making, and the transition to parenthood.

Customized Classes and Refresher Courses

St. Luke's Center for Community health also offers customized childbirth education for parents with unique needs (high risk, bed rest) or scheduling conflicts.

Refreshers are designed to provide a review of information and/or sibling preparation tips for parents who have taken previous courses.

Interested participants should call St. Luke's Center for Community Health to discuss their needs.

Coming Back Together

As in-person classes and events at St. Luke's resume, we have new guidelines intended to help keep us all safe and healthy.

1. Registration is required. Registration will help us manage class sizes, which must not exceed room capacity. Please mention any accompanying family or support people in your registration.

2. Masks are required. Facilitators and participants need to wear masks at all times, regardless of your vaccination status. We will provide medical procedural masks at the door.

3. Everyone will need to use hand sanitizer when entering the classroom and after returning from any breaks.

4. We will no longer offer food or beverages. You may bring your own snacks and drinks to be enjoyed on breaks away from the classroom. We encourage you to take them outside and away from others if possible. You may drink your own water in classes lasting longer than an hour, but we you must still wear your mask between drinks.
